BUDS of the Redwoods Background
B.U.D.S. (Building Up Down Syndrome) of the Redwoods coordinated the first North Coast Buddy Walk in 2002. Over the years we have been instrumental in presenting a positive portrait and outlook for those affected by Down syndrome. In addition to this annual festive get together, we offer one-on-one peer counseling, access to helpful publications, welcome packs to New Parents and New Neighbors, educational and vocational scholarships for adults with Down sydrome, and a wealth of encouragement and understanding. Join us as we partner with local businesses and individuals to help create a welcoming and understanding environment for people with Down syndrome and their families here in our community.
